Elder Pharmaceuticals Ltd., one of the fastest growing pharmaceutical companies in India. On 10th February 2010 Elder Pharmaceuticals Ltd announced the inauguration of a new manufacturing facility at Langa Road, Dehradun. Located in an excise benefit zone, the Company expects major cost advantages from the new facility. The Company plans to move all syrup based product manufacturing to this facility. The facility marks Elder’s entry into injectibles manufacturing, especially anti-infective products like cephalosporins. Built with an investment of Rs 150 crore, the facility is spread over 10 acres.
The facility will have production lines for Liquid Orals, Sterile Injectibles, Cephalosporin block for tablets as well as dry powder injectibles. The range of products to be manufactured at the facility will include Shelcal syrup, Eldervit syrup, Enzar liquid, Mucodyne syrup, Eldervit Inj, and anti-infective tablets mainly of cephalosporins like Formic-O.
Built as an environment friendly site, the facility has a comprehensive rain harvesting system and zero discharge concept. The facility is equipped with fully automated lines meeting GMP standards, Air HVAC & water systems, Pneumatic transfer systems, Automatic inspections for ampoules, etc.
According to Alok Saxena, Director, Elder Pharmaceuticals Ltd. “We expect the new facility to add 15% to our revenues. Injectibles offer a good opportunity both for the domestic as well as export markets. We also expect significant cost advantages by centralizing syrup production at this facility.”
